'Completely' New Hayate the Combat Butler Anime Slated for Fall with Manglobe

This year's 31st issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine is revealing on Wednesday that the new Hayate the Combat Butler anime will begin airing this fall. The issue shows new artwork from the anime studio Manglobe.

The "99th volume" of Kenjirou Hata's Hayate the Combat Butler manga officially announced the new anime last August. The Weekly Shonen Sunday issue does not refer to the new anime as the third season as Hata once did before then, and emphasizes that it will be a "completely new Hayate the Combat Butler" based on Hata's original concepts.

According to Weekly Shonen Sunday, the new anime is "now in earnest production." More information is slated to be announced "in the near future."

If Athena's not going to be in this season, then all hype will be down the drain I guess. She's what the manga people have been waiting for in a long time. I thought she'd appear in Season 2 but I guess she might be relegated to Season 3 so make it happen Manglobe and your odd character designs.

Kumi Koda to Perform Total Eclipse Opening Theme Song

The official website for J-pop singer Kumi Koda announced on Friday that Koda will sing the opening theme song "Go to the top" for the Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse television anime series.
Koda is writing the song's lyrics and Clarabell (RzC) is composing and arranging the song. A release date for the song's single has not yet been decided. Koda's latest album Beach Mix (pictured at right) will go on sale on August 1.
Koda previously sang theme songs for the Final Fantasy X-2 role-playing game, Crayon Shin-chan: Densetsu o Yobu Odore! Amigo!, the live-action Cutie Honey film, Gilgamesh, The Law of Ueki, and Re: Cutie Honey.
This will be Koda's first anime collaboration since she announced her pregnancy and her marriage to Kenji03 last December.
Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse will premiere in Japan on July 1, and it will also premiere at Anime Expo in Los Angeles on the same day. Crunchyroll will stream the anime into several countries as it airs in Japan.

My thoughts: It's quite surprising Koda Kumi will sing the OP for Muv Luv. She wasn't a singer for the Muv Luv series before unlike Granrodeo, Okui Masami, JAM PROJECT, Aki Misato and Kuribayashi Minami. Let's see if she will do a good job in the OP. I've heard Kuribayashi Minami's voice before in the Muv Luv series.

Sword Art Online PSP Game's Teaser Trailer Posted

Bandai Namco Games began streaming a 57-second teaser trailer for its Sword Art Online -Infinity Moment- PlayStation Portable video game on Friday.

Sword Art Online -Infinity Moment- will be in the "live-in-this-moment-with-you RPG" genre.
Bandai Namco Games has not yet set a release date for the game. The game, based on Reki Kawahara's Sword Art Online light novel series, will feature a new story.

An anime adaptation of Kawahara's light novel series will premiere in Japan on July 7 with music by Yuki Kajiura (Noir, .hack, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero).

The story revolves around a boy named Kazuto "Kirito" Kirigaya who enters a virtual-reality, massively multi-player online (MMO) world called "Sword Art Online." There is no escape from this world unless the player clears the game, but "game over" means the death of the player.

Toaru Majutsu no Index and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun crossover PSP

The 521st issue of ASCII Media Works' Dengeki PlayStation magazine revealed on Thursday that a Toaru Majutsu no Index and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun crossover PSP game project is in the works. The adventure game project is titled Toaru Majutsu to Kagaku no Ensemble (A Certain Magical and Scientific Ensemble).

Earlier this month, the Dengeki Bunko imprint revealed plans for a Toaru Majutsu no Index game from Namco Bandai Games and Guyzware (Toradora! Portable, Oreimo Portable).

Kazuma Kamachi's Toaru Majutsu no Index light novel series inspired two television anime series, as well as A Certain Scientific Railgun manga that inspired its own anime franchise. Funimation licensed the first Index series and the Railgun anime, while Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing the Railgun manga. An anime film will open next February with a new story written by Kamachi and new characters designed by novel illustrator Kiyotaka Haimura.

Astrogation - Mizuki Nana (J-Pop song of the day)

Because she had an achievement today, the J-Pop song of the day will be from her of course. On the sidebar, there are a lot of her songs so I had to choose another song of hers.

Nana Mizuki Beats Voice Actress/Actor Record for Top-10 Singles

"Time Space EP" marks Mizuki's 17th top-10 song — 1 more than Megumi Hayashibara

Nana Mizuki has become the voice actress or actor with the most top-10 singles in Japanese music history as of the Oricon weekly single ranking charts dated June 18. Mizuki's 27th single, "Time Space EP," was released on June 6, and placed third on its first week on the charts to become her seventeenth top-10 single overall and her sixteenth in a row. She was previously tied at sixteen with Megumi Hayashibara. The ranking also marks her fourteenth single in a row that charted in the top 5, and her tenth to chart in the top 3.

The single includes the song "Metro Baroque," the theme song for the Blood-C: The Last Dark film, as well as "Space-Time Sapphire," which was used in an animated Meiji candy company commercial directed by Rintaro.

Mizuki will begin a national tour of Japan this summer on June 24, and will be releasing a new single titled "Bright Stream" on August 1. All three songs on the "Bright Stream" single will be anime-related, as it includes "Bright Stream," the theme song for Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha the Movie 2nd A's, "Sacred Force," an insert song for the same film, and "Fearless Hero," the opening theme for Dog Days'. The "Bright Stream" single will cost 1200 yen (about US$15).

Congratulations to her. She's one of the greatest singers and also a voice actress.

Brave Your Truth - Daisy x Daisy (J-Pop song of the day)

Happy 36th Birthday Kuribayashi Minami

Happy birthday to one of my favorite singers. Hopefully, she will have more songs and be active this year. She sang Happy Crazy Box, Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line, Muv Luv, Blue Treasure, Love Jump, Next Season, Straight Jet, among many others. She'll be in Animelo Summer Live 2012 as a regular member so hopefully she will be in the main event. Best wishes and once again happy birthday.
